WHAT IS A 360-DEGREE ASSESSMENT?
A 360-degree assessment is a method of providing an individual (i.e., the Ratee or Participant) feedback about their behavior and the impact of that behavior from a variety of perspectives. These tools are often also called multi-rater inventories because the individual receives feedback from multiple people (i.e., the Raters) with whom they work. The Raters are grouped by the nature of their working relationship with the Participant (as see in the image above).
The purpose of this process is to help the individual receiving the feedback to gain a better understanding of how others perceive them and their leadership behaviors. It provides a fuller picture of how they show up at work and what their leadership strengths are to leverage and where they have opportunities for further development. The Children's Mercy Leadership Excellence Core 4 Insights Tool was designed specifically to be developmental in nature and will not be used to evaluate the individual’s performance in any way.
